If you love prowling the aisles at Home Depot, enjoy fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials while supporting our mission of providing simple, decent housing, the Habitat ReStore needs you. Sales, display, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are primarily volunteer efforts. With only a small paid staff, the Habitat ReStore can use your help. Be part of HFHBR's premier recycler of new and used building materials, tools and appliances. Call (225) 355-1895, or just dress down and drop by the store to get involved. The Habitat ReStore is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Also needed are volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to teach staff and perhaps conduct monthly workshops. Volunteers clean donations, set up displays, help customers . . . and anything else that needs doing!

While the Habitat Habitat ReStore sells many of the products other retail construction and home improvement stores sell, it varies in other aspects like its product selection, variability, etc.  Some of the activities we would like our volunteers to assist in may include, but are not limited to:

• pricing
• maintenance of the store
• organization of merchandise
• inventory (once a year)
• receiving (unloading and loading donated materials and merchandise)
• truck runs
• data entry
• promotions (distribution, mailings, etc.)
