While most volunteers come and go, the Silver Hammers have been laboring alongside our small construction staff since the inception of the Baton Rouge affiliate in 1989.  The Silver Hammers is comprised mostly of retirees who are looking to stay active while serving the community.  They are skilled and experienced in every phase of house construction, and indispensable for helping Habitat complete houses on schedule and grow in capacity.

Every week, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge sees amazing volunteers, like you, come and go with each successive build. In response, we created the Super Crew: an elite group of dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers from past and current builds who want to play an active role in serving our affiliate.
Start volunteering with Habitat for Humanity today! After you accumulate 25 volunteer hours by working on a variety of projects, you are eligible to become a Super Crew member. The Construction Staff hopes to utilize your experience and dedication to HFHGBR to build more houses.  We want to help you make Habitat a habit!
