Mission Statement: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is a Christian-based ministry that builds and renovates houses in partnership with the community.  We provide opportunities for families in need to purchase their own homes, build community and improve their lives.
Volunteer

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge is a volunteer-driven organization.  With minimal staff, Habitat depends on volunteer involvement in construction and other aspects of the organization to further our mission of ending poverty housing.  Habitat seeks both skilled and unskilled construction volunteers.  Skilled construction volunteers assist staff members in directing small groups of volunteers on the build site.  Since most construction tasks require only a desire to learn and ability work well with others,  we encourage all willing volunteers, regardless of skill level, to come on site and learn from our more seasoned builders.    Non-construction help is also needed on the build site with hospitality and registration.

Volunteer construction days are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7:45 am to 3pm.

Individuals:
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge offers opportunities for you to experience each phase of home building, from framing walls to landscaping. We make every effort to include all willing volunteers who are at least 16 years old, regardless of skill level.

Groups:
Habitat welcomes groups from businesses, churches, and other organizations to volunteer on our construction sites.  Groups can vary in size, and we  do our best to accommodate any special requests.  We ask groups to provide a leader to facilitate communication between your group and our staff.

Crew Leaders:
We are looking for skilled industry leaders--such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, master gardeners--to help us finish houses on schedule and direct volunteers as needed.  If you are retired or have extra time on Wednesdays and Saturdays, please contact Katie.

Out of Town Volunteers:
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge ReStore accepts tax-deductible donations of usable, new and used building materials and products that are then resold to the public at bargain prices.

To sign up to volunteer at our construction sites, simply click on the Volunteer Registration or email Katie , Volunteer Coordinator.
